Learning Persian, Arabic popular in US

The US Critical Languages Program has begun offering Persian and Arabic courses due to the increasing popularity of the two languages in the country.

The US government launched the initiative in order to assist Americans who are becoming increasingly more interested in learning Persian and Arabic from an early age.

Poverty endangers pupils' performance

A new study suggests that poverty greatly influence the educational performance of white British children than any other ethnic group in the United Kingdom.

According to the findings published by the British media, poor white British pupils are falling far behind their richer classmates from the same ethnic background at primary school and in their GCSE results.

Iran to guard universities against 'plots'

Minister of Science, Research and Technology Kamran Daneshjoo says the "enemies" of Iran are plotting a cultural invasion of the country's universities.

"The enemies are making efforts to replace the Islamic atmosphere in [Iranian] universities with their liberal democratic environment," Daneshjoo said Sunday, referring to remarks by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
