Since the days of Bathhouse John Coughlin through the St. Valentine’s Day massacre and the 1968 Democrat presidential election,the Windy City has provided connoisseurs of crime and corruption with an unending feast of sleaze. Now we’ve got the Blago and Barry Scandal.

The mind tries to scratch itself, as if little bugs were running around inside your head, trying forever to try to make the numbers add up, and they don't. They won't. Perhaps they never will.

Suddenly, things are gone. You didn't plan it that way. They're just gone, lost to attrition, paring down, disappeared by the friction of life. Where did that book go? That ring? That photo?

On March 1, 2002, Washington Post writers Barton Gellman and Susan Schmidt headlined, "Shadow Government Is at Work in Secret," saying:

"President Bush has dispatched a shadow government of about 100 senior civilian managers to live and work secretly outside Washington, activating for the first time longstanding plans to ensure survival of federal rule after a catastrophic attack on the nation's capital."

Indeed, a decade ago, Black Muslim Minister Farrakhan’s “Million Man March” brought a throng of hundreds of thousands to the Capitol.

When it was announced several years ago that spy satellites would be used domestically, the excuse was that they were a necessary tool to fight the “war on terror” and illegal immigration. However, now that the use of such technology is becoming commonplace, it is in fact being deployed mainly to harass citizens who haven’t followed local ordinances on swimming pools or paid local back taxes.

This CNN video from several years ago, which has received fresh attention over the last few days, discusses the use of GPS satellite technology in the context of fighting terrorists, protecting borders and critical infrastructure, as the former DHS Assistant Secretary states that Americans should have “pride” in their domestic deployment.

According to the CNN report below, the government will use satellites “sparingly” to spy on the American people. However, as Infowars.com and Prison Planet.com have reported at least since 2007, the government has used this technology consistently to prey into the affairs of the citizenry. Spy satellite technology — lasers, infrared, electromagnetic data and other technologies — is a primary component in the police state control and surveillance grid. The technology was not designed to protect us from foreign terrorists.

The bitter controversy over the building of a Muslim community center and mosque near the site of the terrorist attacks in New York on Sept. 11, 2001, is sparking new fears of government snooping on Islamic holy places –  which it now claims it can do without a warrant.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the Asian Law Caucus (ALC), and the San Francisco Bay Guardian newspaper, are suing the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in San Francisco over the agency’s failure to respond to a five-month-old request for information on its investigation of Bay Area Muslim groups.

The Department of Justice has fired a salvo in the war against patriotic Americans supporting the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The DOJ has issued Investigating Terrorism and Criminal Extremism –Terms and Concepts, a 120-page propaganda addendum described as “a glossary designed primarily as a tool for criminal justice professionals to enhance their understanding of words relating to extremist terminology, phrases, activities, symbols, organizations, and selected names that they may encounter while conducting criminal investigations or prosecutions of members of extremist organizations.”

The glossary describes the word “constitutionalist” as a “generic term for members of the ‘patriot’ movement. It is now often used to refer to members of the sovereign citizen or common law court movement. Sometimes the word ‘constitutionalist’ is also used.”

Tens of thousands of people have attended a controversial rally in Washington DC organised by conservative talk show host Glenn Beck. Is US history witnessing a new radical movement that could steer the country in a different direction? Or is this simply a passing trend?
